United Kingdom Visa

UK ETA (Travel Authorization)

• U.S. citizens must obtain a UK ETA Visa before traveling to the United Kingdom. This requirement applies to tourists, business travelers, and those transiting through the UK.  

UK ETA Visa For US Citizens And Other Eligible Nationalities

All emailed documents should be sent as a PDF attachment, except for the photograph, which should be emailed as a Jpeg attachment. Please note: if you are within driving distance, you may also visit us at our office.

Instructions for obtaining a UK ETA:

• Clear color copy of bio page of passport (page with the picture)
• One Passport sized photograph. Photo must be 2 x 2 on a white background, no glasses, and no facial expressions.
Emailed passport photographs should be sent in Jpeg format only.
• Completed United Kingdom ETA Questionnaire (See link below)

• For Minors under 18: Copy of the Birth Certificate
• For Non - US Citizens: A copy of Green Card or Legal Status in United States Should also be Submitted

The following nationalities must also obtain UK ETA:

Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Australia,The Bahamas, Bahrain, Barbados, Belize, Botswana, Brazil, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Grenada, Guatemala, Guyana,Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (including British national overseas), Israel, Japan, Kiribati, Kuwait, Macao Special Administrative Region, Malaysia, Maldives, Marshall Islands, Mauritius, Mexico, Federated States of Micronesia, Nauru, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Oman, Palau, Panama, Papua New Guinea, Paraguay, Peru, Qatar, Samoa, Saudi Arabia, Seychelles, Singapore, Solomon Islands, South Korea, St Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Taiwan (if you have a passport issued by Taiwan that includes in it the number of the identification card issued by the competent authority in Taiwan), Tonga, Trinidad and Tobago, Tuvalu, United Arab Emirates, United States, Uruguay

UK ETA Fees:
$180.00 - This fee includes the UK government fees as well as the processing fees.

Tourist Visa Requirements For Non-US Citizens
(Those Who Do Not Qualify For A UK ETA Visa):

All UK Visa applicants should initially complete the Online UK Visa application form and pay the visa fees online, then print and sign the application. While filling the online UK visa application, applicants will be advised of their closest Biometrics Center to visit and have their fingerprint taken. The applicant will be given a receipt upon completion of the Biometrics process. Subsequently, they should send the completed and signed Visa application form, the Biometrics receipt, along with the following documents to Ambassador Passport and Visa Services:

• Submit your valid passport, passport must have 6 months remaining validity
• 1 Fully Completed Visa Application Form

Very Important: When starting your online visa application, select language, category of visa, country (USA), and then YOU MUST SELECT  THE CHOICE:
"I have identified the location where I will provide my biometrics (or I am unable to provide my biometrics at any location)."  AND NOT ANY OF THE VFS OR VAC CENTERS.  

Please also note, only the consular fees should be paid using the VFS website. When paying the consular fees initially, please choose "standard service at US Homeland Security Offices.  Later on, when choosing the biometric appointment at one of the US Homeland Security Offices, you will have a choice to choose "Standard Service" or "Priority Service".  When choosing Priority Service, the priority fees will need to be paid online, before choosing your biometrics appointment.

You should NOT choose any of the VFS Premium Processing Centers, nor pay for "courier services", "scanning options" or any additional services.  Additionally, upon completion, the documents and requirements SHOULD NOT BE SHIPPED directly to the UK consulate or VFS Centers.  They should be sent to our office directly. 

If above instructions are not followed properly, this may result in your inability to secure a biometric location, as well as signficant delays beyond our control and ability to assist you any further.

• 1 Passport photograph
• Evidence of legal residence in U.S.A. ie: valid multiple entry visa with a clear copy of I-94 attached, copy of alien registration card / Green Card, copy of I-512 Advance Parole Document, Valid I-20 (must be signed on reverse by designated school official)
• If visiting family or friends, a letter of invitation from your host is required.  The letter must state that they will provide room and board support for you during your visit, Host must also provide proof of legal status in the UK (e.g. British Passport, Work Permit, Student Visa).
• Evidence of funds available for your visit. Three months of most bank statements are required.
• If employed, three months of most recent pay stubs. If self-employed, a copy of business license and copy of most recent tax returns are required.
• For applicants that are not employed, such as retired individuals, homemakers or students; letter from family member (such as spouse, children or parents) who is providing support for the trip, as well as the family member's proof of employment and funds are required.  In addition, a copy of the passport of the family member and proof of relationship are required.

UK Student Visa

• 1 Passport photograph
• The CAS Letter (Confirmation of acceptance for studies) from the school in U.K.
• Most recent bank statement or a letter from the bank showing proof of sufficient funds for tuition and maintenance.  If the bank statements are under a parent's name, copy of parent's passport, copy of student's birth certificate, as well as a letter indicating the parents support and commitment to cover all expenses is required.
• If applicant has student loans, copy of loan documents or grant is required.
• Proof of IHS (Immigration Health Surcharge) is required.  This has to be paid online when completing the visa application form.
• For non US Citizens, evidence of legal residence in U.S.A. ie: valid multiple entry visa with a clear copy of I-94 attached, copy of alien registration card / Green Card,  Valid I-20 (must be signed on reverse by designated school official)

• Completed Ambassador Passport and Visa Cover Letter
