Brazil Visa Update
Please note: U.S. citizens are not required to obtain a visa to travel to Brazil for business or tourism. Starting April 10, 2025, U.S. citizens will be required to obtain a visa in order to travel to Brazil. For specialty visas such as providing technical support, flight crew, filming or athlete visas, please contact an Ambassador Passport and Visa specialist at 310-828-7878.
Requirements for Non U.S. Citizens:
• 1 Fully completed and signed online Visa Application Form. (see below)
Please note: You must send or hand-in all documents and requirements directly to the Ambassador Passport and Visa Services address (not to the Brazil Consulate or Embassy). Failure to do so will result in significant delays beyond our control.
In order to access the application, select the "English" language on the top right, then click on "foreign citizens" and select the "Visa" button (NOT the e-visa), scroll down to the bottom left of the web-page and click on the button "Start new application" .
Proceed with filling out, printing and signing the receipt of the completed online application (receipt will come with a bar code, a "protocol number" and a bottom rectangle for the signature):

In addition:
• Submit your original passport. The passport must be valid for 6 months from date of return, and contain at least one blank visa page (front and back).
• One recent passport photograph
• A clear copy of Driver License or Valid State ID
• Copy of round trip airline tickets or travel itinerary If traveling on a Cruise Ship, copy of the Cruise itinerary with travelers name must also be provided.
• Copy of hotel reservation
• Three months of most recent bank statements
• Three month of pay stubs or proof of employment such as copy of business license. For applicants that are not employed, a letter from spouse or immediate relative, accepting full financial support, and proof of relationship such as copy of birth certificate or marriage certificate is required. In this case, proof of income and employment of the person sponsoring is required.
• A copy of Green Card or Legal Status in United States
• Completed Ambassador Passport and Visa Cover Letter (see below)
For Minors: (Children under age of 18), the following additional requirements must be submitted:
• Notarized photocopy of the birth certificate
• In the event of absent parent(s), a notarized letter of parental consent authorizing the Consulate General of Brazil to issue a visa, signed by the absent parent(s) / guardian(s)
• Children under age 18 not traveling with both parents must provide a notarized letter of consent. This letter must be authenticated by the Brazilian Consulate,

• A business letter from your firm (on company’s letterhead), addressed to Consulate General of Brazil. (see sample below)
The business letter should state all of the following:
-Name and title of applicant Purpose of trip and contact in Brazil
-The nature of duties to be performed in exact detail and assuming full responsibility for the applicant while in Brazil and return transportation.
-The letter should be signed by a company executive other than the applicant.
-The following sentence must also be added in the Business Letter: "The applicant will neither perform any technical work nor will he/she be remunerated (paid for services rendered) from Brazilian Sources."
• An invitation letter from the host company in Brazil
• Completed Ambassador Passport and Visa Cover Letter (see below)
