A second valid passport is for travelers usually for one or more of the following reasons:
- Need to obtain visas while traveling abroad, or are trying to obtain multiple visas which will take longer to obtain than their travel date.
- Are traveling between multiple countries that are politically sensitive or have restrictive entry requirements, making it impossible to complete the trip using just one passport.
Instructions for applying for a second passport:
1- Completed and Signed Application Form DS-82
Please read the following important notes before completing the Online Application:
Agree to the privacy agreement on the first page of the application. On the next page, locate the left-hand column and select the “Apply Online” option at the bottom left-hand side of the page. Click “Submit” to proceed with the application.
On the “Passport Products and Fees” page, under “Processing Methods,” select the “Expedited at Agency” option. Under “Delivery Methods,” select the “Standard” option. (Note: Since Ambassador Passport and Visa will hand-carry your documents to and from the U.S. Department of State, the mailing option does not apply to hand-carry applicants.)
On the last page, titled “Next Steps,” check the box at the bottom left indicating “I have read and acknowledge the steps…” Below the checkbox, click the “Print Form” button (also located at the bottom left). Open and print and sign the application with black ink (original wet signature only). Please note: Electronically signed applications or copies are not acceptable, and will cause rejection or significant delays in processing.
- If you have any questions or concerns, please call us at 310-828-7878.
If you are using our expediting service, it is essential that you send or deliver all required documents directly to the Ambassador Passport and Visa Services. This allows us to hand-carry your application to the U.S. Passport Agency immediately.
You must send all documents and requirements to Ambassador Passport and Visa Services so that we can hand carry your application into the Passport Agency immediately.
FAILURE TO SEND OR WALK-IN YOUR DOCUMENTS AND REQUIREMENTS DIRECTLY TO OUR ADDRESS MAY RESULT IN SIGNIFICANT DELAYS THAT ARE BEYOND OUR CONTROL.
